Living donors must be healthy adults with normal kidney function, and legally a near relative — or a non-relative approved by the State Authorisation Committee.

- ✓No active infection or cancer
- ✓Sound mental health
Legal requirements
Donation must be voluntary and unpaid. Non-relatives need committee approval proving no financial transaction.
